Spiers Landing

Spiers Landing is accessed from Spiers Landing Road off of highway 6 one half mile west of the Cross Fire Department #2. Spiers Landing is part of the Berkeley County Park at that location. The paved launching facility offers plenty of parking and easy launching. As can be seen on the map there are numerous islands as well as several miles of inviting shoreline to paddle. One can easily paddle a half day, a full day or spend an overnight on one of the islands without becoming bored or seeing it all. There are several small beaches on the islands as well as clear high ground for camping in several locations. The cypress shoreline to the South of the landing provides some excellent fishing for bluegills and red eared sunfish. As always, please take care to leave the areas as you find them, leaving only footprints behind and take with you what you brought. Numerous ospreys will be seen nesting in the area as well as an assortment of wading birds and the occasional alligator sunning on the sandy beaches.
